What & Why:As a result of investment in technology our client is looking to add a Senior DevOps engineer with expert level GitLab skills to their enterprise engineering team. This team is on a mission to transform how over 700+ engineers build, test, deploy, and secure software. Powered by GitLab, the team is a modern, self-service CI/CD platform built to empower teams to ship secure code faster with collective ownership and continuous improvement. In this high-impact role, you'll help define and implement enterprise tooling, DevOps standards, and CI/CD practices across the technology org. You'll bring deep technical expertise in GitOps, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure to deliver scalable solutions and drive adoption across a large and diverse engineering community. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking engineer who thrives on solving complex problems at scale and helping shape the developer experience within one of the world's leading retail brands.Who:This client is one of the most recognizable Canadian brands, a true Vancouver success story who has expanded globally. They are well known for their corporate culture and has won major awards for their accomplishments. They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all-star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have an in office work arrangement, 4 days on site a week.You:You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
  • 10+ years of experience in CI/CD, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
  • Deep experience with tools like GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Cloud-native environments.
  • Hands-on programming experience in Go, Java, Shell, or similar languages.
  • Proven ability to architect scalable CI/CD pipelines across large organizations.
  • Strong Linux/Unix background and experience managing databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Experience with SDLC concepts, Agile practices, and delivering high-quality software at scale.
