Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, the Superintendent will be responsible for all site operations. This includes supervising on-site construction activities, ensuring that project plans and schedules are followed, and delivering projects effectively, safely, and within budget.Site Superintendent - High-Rise - Ottawa
  • Develop, maintain, and execute project plans and schedules, ensuring adherence to budgets.
  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities.
  • Work closely with senior superintendents, coordinators, field engineers, foremen, and site staff.
  • Implement and enforce site-specific safety programs and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure quality standards are met in both materials and workmanship.
  • Liaise with engineers, designers, inspectors, and local authorities to obtain necessary approvals and resolve issues.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve project challenges, advising senior management as needed.
  • Lead site meetings with sub-trades and internal teams to ensure clear communication.
  • Maintain daily site logs and prepare lookahead schedules.
  • Oversee project performance, including schedule, cost, equipment, manpower, and quality control.
  • Contribute to project management activities such as material take-offs, procurement estimates, and schedule development aligned with critical paths.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive construction experience.
  • Experience in high-rise residential construction is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of construction operations, specifications, materials, and procedures.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to evaluate trade performance effectively.
  • Strong scheduling abilities, with experience in critical path management.
  • Ability to lead effective site meetings with consultants, trades, and internal staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles as they apply to construction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations, with the ability to implement compliant procedures.
