- Performance range: $98,528 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.
Reporting to the Director, the position of Academic Administrative Officer (AAO) is responsible for administrative duties, coordinating, and supporting delivery of graduate programs and is the only professional staff (PEA) in IGOV.The incumbent is required to have broad knowledge and skills related to academic program management, local Indigenous protocols and ways of knowing, financial monitoring and reporting, human resource management, and supporting graduate student learning.Objectives:
- Improve current processes and optimize procedures to ensure the School operates smoothly and effectively.
- Oversee office operations and planning, financial management, and assistance to the School Director.
- Support the School leadership to meet long-term planning and academic goals.
- Supervise administrative staff including recruiting, performance development, coaching, and workload management.
- Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment.
- Cultural awareness of the Indigenous peoples of British Columbia and familiarity with Indigenous communities and the issues they face regarding the public post-secondary education system.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and tailor communication style for different audiences and situations.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating a team of professionals.
