The Technical Inside Sales Representative is the key technical resource for customer service and aftermarket sales. Provides support to Regional Sales Managers/customer service during quotation stage and prior to receiving an order for technical questions. Works directly with customers – including resellers, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms, and end users – to answer technical aftermarket questions. This role acts as a key liaison between customers, sales, and operations, coordinating in?house service work and off?site service visits. In addition, provides retrofit blower support, warranty evaluation, and executes and takes ownership of the RMA (return merchandise authorization) process.Responsibilities:Service:
- Create RMAs, commercial invoices & BOL (bill of lading) as needed for returns
- Create work orders for service, field jobs, and configurations
- Quote repair & field jobs to customers
- Follow up with customers for purchase orders
- Process purchase orders/invoices in OM
- Pick release orders and send to shipping
- Identify priorities to operations
- Process all warranty claims (approvals, FAR, plan for correction, etc.)
- Provide technical support to technicians, customers, and service centers
- Quote various requests to customers
- Enter POs, generate order acknowledgments, etc.
- Update daily backlog file, determine allocation of blowers with shortages with sales reps
- Pick release orders and send to shipping
- Enter expected receipt dates for parts & equipment that are on back order
- Identify which orders won’t ship within the month and change dates accordingly
- Back up as needed
- Support large OEMs in the vac truck market
- General questions related to controls
- Support for off-site startups, operations of blowers, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting issues
- Determine replacement blower options when blowers are discontinued and communicate required modifications to the customer
- Perform belt and pulley selection
- Blower performance selections for revised customer requirements.
- Support Pointe Claire location during vacation
- Assist with quoting industrial standard packages (SFB & MSC)
- Selecting blowers
- Select accessories
- Completing RFQs (Request for Quotations)
- Other responsibilities as assigned or required
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 5+ years of mechanical experience.
- SAP, Salesforce, Oracle or other ERP system experience.
- Strong communication skills: written, presentation, and verbal.
- Customer focused.
- Strong collaborative skills to engage peers in operations, purchasing, and engineering to solve warranty-related issues.
- Strong technical aptitude to understand complex problems.
- Self-motivated, high initiative, self-directed.
- Good presentation skills and experience interfacing with customers in a commercial setting by email, phone, and in person.
- College degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Relative experience with blower/rotating equipment or other mechanical experience.
- Onsite in Acheson, Alberta.
