Key Responsibilities:Site Operations & Execution:
  • Oversee and coordinate all daily site activities, ensuring work is performed safely and according to schedule.
  • Supervise crews, subcontractors, and suppliers on site.
  • Plan and organize labour, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Maintain a daily site log including activities, safety observations, visitors, inspections, and progress (photos/videos as needed).
  • Monitor productivity and adjust work plans to meet project timelines.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
  • Provide direction and leadership to field staff and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with Project Managers.
  • Lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Ensure crews have the information, tools, and support needed to perform their work efficiently.
Quality, Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce health and safety policies and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate site risks and unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate inspections, utility locates, and regulatory requirements.
Project Tracking & Reporting:
  • Track daily progress and report updates to the Project Manager.
  • Assist with schedule updates and short-term planning.
  • Support cost control by monitoring labour, equipment, and material usage.
  • Liaise with inspectors, consultants, and client representatives on site.
  • Maintain a professional and organized job site.
  • Assist crews when required and lead by example.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, preferably in underground infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
  • Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or in a similar field leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple crews and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
  • Proficient with basic computer tools (e.g., Microsoft Office); experience with construction software is an asset.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
