The Opportunity:We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Building Science to join a growing Building Science and Sustainability team supporting projects across Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. This role provides technical leadership on building science investigations, remediation strategies, and building envelope projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality building performance solutions, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the continued growth of the Building Science practice. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who enjoys solving complex building performance challenges while working closely with clients and project teams.What You'll Be Doing:Lead building science projects from initiation through completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.Oversee building envelope design reviews, commissioning activities, construction-phase services, and field assessments.Conduct building science investigations and develop practical remediation strategies for building performance issues.Prepare clear and professional technical reports, memorandums, and site visit summaries.Maintain action lists and track the resolution of deficiencies identified during investigations or site visits.Review design documents and provide technically sound recommendations and solutions.Perform internal peer reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across building performance projects.Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.Lead and mentor project teams while supporting the growth and development of junior technical staff.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated building science and sustainability solutions.Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices to support continuous improvement.What You'll Need to Be Successful:Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation, with registration in a relevant provincial association (APEGA preferred).5+ years of building science experience as an engineer or project manager.Strong understanding of building envelope systems and building science principles.Experience using building science tools and software for analysis and assessment.Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.Experience leading project teams and mentoring technical staff.Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry developments.Valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle (mileage compensated).Additional certifications related to building science or project management.Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering or consulting projects.
