- Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment
- Create tailored, graded return-to-work plans with specific, measurable goals that gradually increase activity and build tolerance.
- Concussion management and return to function planning
- Perform clinical evaluations,provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies (e.g., pacing, energy conservation) to address injury-related deficits.
- Identification ofappropriate equipmentneeds with initiation of recommendations
- Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
- Provide educationto theclientabout the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.
- Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
- Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment
- Exhibit sound professional judgment
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
- In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)
- Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
- Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
- Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Bilingualism - French and English are assets.
