In 2021, Littelfuse had net sales of $2.1 billion.As part of the development team located in Saskatoon, SK, the R&D Senior Electrical Engineer will be involved with the design, development, and testing of protective relays (i.e. ground-fault relays, ground-fault circuit interrupters, or similar protective functions).About the Job:Electronics Design: Lead the design and development of complex electronics systems from concept to production launch, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.Circuit Design: Create detailed circuit schematics, analyze and simulate circuits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.PCB Layout: Oversee the PCB layout process, ensuring signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal considerations are meticulously addressed.Component Selection: Evaluate and select electronic components based on performance, availability, and cost considerations.Prototype Testing: Collaborate with the prototyping team to build and test prototypes, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on designs for continuous improvement.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware engineers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems into the overall product architecture.Documentation: Generate comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test plans, and reports, to facilitate communication and knowledge transfer within the team.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.About You:BS Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 7 years of experience in an electronics design roleStrong ability to communicate with other engineers, management, and external customers over both written and verbal communication.Excellent analytical skills and demonstrable knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.Proficient in a schematic capture and PCB layout tool (preference to Altium)Experience with mixed signal design a mustExperience with project management system or subsystemExperience with embedded design (hardware and firmware) (nice to have)Experience with simulation applications (nice to have)Experience with line-voltage or high-power electronics (nice to have)Experience using Python or other scripting languageKnowledge of UL/cUL/CE Standards / CertificationLittelfuse strives to empower associate growth and development in a culture of ongoing collaboration and respect for diverse global perspectives and expertise.
