- Our Actuarial and Insurance Solutions (AIS) practice will not just offer you a typical actuarial role. You will build innovative solutions to advance the actuarial field in addition to developing a deep knowledge of actuarial technical concepts and understanding the issues that will affect our clients. The (AIS) practice is a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional service line that engages with clients across the Life, Property & Casualty, and Pension industries. Our Canadian team is part of Deloitte's worldwide actuarial network, which includes over 1,500 actuarial professionals working in 43 countries. Our service line performs client engagements that include, but are not limited to, technical actuarial work, enterprise risk management, actuarial process re-engineering, regulatory advisory, pension de-risking, predictive analytics, and M&A due diligence
- Within our Internal Audit (IA) and IT Audit & Assurance (IT A&A) practice, you can expect to have a dynamic and exciting internship that is full of challenges and opportunities to grow. You'll develop and grow your skills through your work on client engagements - which include internal audits, risk assessments, technology audits (such as IT general controls) and third-party assurance (such as SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits). A typical day might involve working with your team to assess business and technology processes and identifying areas of risk. You might then work to execute an audit plan that addresses those risks and ensures compliance with the audit objectives. You could be involved in conducting fieldwork, which may include in reviewing documentation, and testing controls. This is where your analytical and problem-solving skills come into play, as you work to identify potential issues. You may also be responsible for drafting audit findings and discussing issues with management, which requires strong communication skills. You'll hone your skills through plenty of on-the-job learning, coaching and support. Individuals with interest in controls, audit methodologies, business and IT operations, IT risk, analytics and data should apply. While not mandatory for an applicant, these roles allows individuals to earn their CPA, CIA, or CISA designation requirements. Our CPA program is recognized in all provinces. While there are many similarities between the Internal Audit and IT Audit & Assurance, you will join one of these teams:
- Internal Audit: We help our clients deliver assurance and advise on critical business issues, anticipating risks. Through innovative methods, advanced analytics, and labs, we help our clients transform their internal audit function.
- IT Audit & Assurance: We seek to elevate trust, integrity and confidence in Canadian organizations by assuring and advising on IT and emerging technology risks to help our clients achieve regulatory, internal and extended enterprise requirements and maximize their impact.
- As an Assurance Analyst, you will review and contribute to the planning and execution of Accounting Operations and Reporting Advisory projects. Our Assurance team focuses on enabling CFOs and their Finance teams for success. You will be involved in delivering our core services which include new standards implementation services, accounting framework conversion, securities offering services, IPO readiness, accounting and reporting for transactions, CFO / Finance Effectiveness Workshops, Finance Operating Model Assessments, Finance Process Mapping / Redesign, “Fix Finance” projects designed to remediate or upgrade finance processes, controls, documentation, systems and tools and Technology Advisory.
