Compliance Program Development
- Design and enhance the company's global compliance framework
- Develop and maintain policies, codes of conduct, and internal controls
- Lead compliance risk assessments across functions and jurisdictions
- Establish governance processes aligned with a scaling, multi-entity organization
- Oversee compliance with applicable corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory laws
- Monitor evolving regulatory requirements (U.S., Canada, EMEA as applicable)
- Ensure readiness for financing due diligences, certification audits and regulatory inquiries
- Support board-level governance requirements and reporting
- Identify emerging regulatory risks tied to growth, new markets, or new product lines
- Support executive leadership and the board in compliance reporting
- Build scalable internal controls appropriate for a larger enterprise
- Lead internal investigations related to code of conduct, regulatory concerns, or whistleblower complaints
- Partner with HR on sensitive employment and misconduct matters
- Ensure defensible documentation and proper escalation protocols
- Support global data privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Advise on cross-border regulatory exposure
- Coordinate with external counsel on international matters
- Develop compliance training programs for leadership and employees
- Promote a culture of accountability and proactive risk management
- Advise leaders on practical risk mitigation in real time
- 6-8+ years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house)
- Strong background in corporate compliance and regulatory matters
- Experience designing or managing compliance programs in scaling organizations
- Experience leading internal investigations
- Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with operational reality
- Member of the Quebec bar
