
Sales Team Lead

- Work with the Area Manager and/or Area Sales Manager to grow market share and gross margin.
- Conduct customer on-site visits, promoting company products and services.
- Contact existing customers/vendors in person, by phone, or through electronic communication to further relationships and cultivate sales with these customers/vendors.
- Participate in local and regional trade associations to create and further develop company's presence in the marketplace.
- Attend local and regional trade shows to network with existing and potential customers in the marketplace.
- Network internally with company branches to promote awareness of company activities and support product information/applications.
- Attend internal and external sales and product training sessions to advance sales skillsand technological knowledge required to achieve personal and company objectives.
- In partnership with the Area Manager and/or Area Business Manager, set goals, devise sales strategies, evaluate sales team performance, assign tasks, and provide support to sales team.
- Train and coach team in customer value best practices and facilitate a culture whereby every team member is obsessed with customer success.
- Set effective goals and monitor key performance metrics to assess daily, weekly and monthly progress and to track improvement initiatives. Implement area strategy and develop a complimentary sales strategy to achieve excellent performance and growth and customer value
- Excellent communication, customer service and leadership skills
- Knowledge of market preferences, competition, regulations and trends
- Possess strong negotiating and selling skills.
- Extensive knowledge of irrigation / nursery / landscape products and practices.
- Build relationships with clients and grow sales
- Proven approach to access decision makers at client organizations
- Ability to communicate value proposition and differentiate SiteOne's products and services
- Ability to think quickly and make decisions
- Understands principles of sales and operations planning process, statistical demand forecasting and integration of demand plans and supply plans
- Bachelor's degree in a business/management discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three plus years work experience in nursery, irrigation and/or landscape industry.
- Five plus years sales experience.
- Managerial experience including leadership, issue management, motivation, and team building, preferred
