Develop advanced clinical expertise in hand therapy, splinting, and complex rehabilitation, supported by mentorship and a strong referral base.Clinical Practice SnapshotIn this role, you’ll work with:
- Post-surgical hand and upper extremity cases
- Workplace (WCB) and motor vehicle (MVA) injuries
- Complex orthopedic and plastic surgery referrals
- Custom splinting and casting needs
- Return-to-work and functional rehabilitation programs
- Assess and treat hand and upper extremity conditions using evidence-based approaches
- Design and fabricate custom splints to support recovery and function
- Collaborate closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams on post-surgical care
- Support clients through return-to-work and functional rehabilitation planning
- Educate clients and families on recovery, prevention, and independence strategies
- Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation to support program outcomes
- Registration in good standing with your provincial College of Occupational Therapists
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) designation (required)
- Strong clinical reasoning and commitment to evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience in hand therapy, orthopedics, or rehabilitation programs preferred
- Access to a strong surgical referral network and specialized caseload
