Your Opportunity:The Pelvic Physiotherapist position reports directly to the Care Manager of the Chronic Pain Centre. Using advanced skills in neuromusculoskeletal pain assessment and treatment, the physical therapist is responsible for the assessment and treatment of physical impairment and disabilities of patients with chronic pelvic pain in an interdisciplinary environment. Providing education to patients in an individual or group setting is an important component of this position. The Pelvic Pain Program Physical Therapist collaborates with colleagues and members of the clinical team (physicians, nursing, kinesiology, occupational therapy, and others) to provide excellence in service delivery, program development, education and research. This position also collaborates with other AHS services and community resources.Description:As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) Preferred Qualifications:Applicants must demonstrate advanced skills in neuromusculoskeletal assessment and treatment, including completion of Manual Therapy Level 1 and ongoing postgraduate education in chronic pain (orthopedic, vulvovaginal, visceral, incontinence, human sexuality). A minimum of 3 years clinical practice, 2 years managing pelvic floor disorders, and completion of an introductory pelvic floor course are required, along with competency in vaginal/rectal pelvic floor assessment.
