- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and developing a talented culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team and other departments to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Control and manage the kitchen budget, including food and labour costs, to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
- Source the highest quality ingredients from local suppliers, building strong relationships within the Toronto culinary community.
- Engage with guests to receive feedback and ensure their dining expectations are exceeded.
- Stay updated on the latest culinary trends and techniques, incorporating them into the menu and kitchen operations.
- Implement sustainable practices in the kitchen, aligning with Hyatt's commitment to environmental stewardship.
- Culinary Arts degree or equivalent professional culinary certification.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in culinary management, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant setting.
- Exceptional culinary skills.
- Familiarity with kosher dietary laws and practices is considered an asset.
- Expertise in creative menu development, particularly in high-volume banquet settings.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing culinary talent.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
