- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure compliance with applicable standards (IFRS/ASPE).
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Lead the preparation and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support tax reporting and regulatory filings as needed.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on best practices and technical issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or in progress) is highly preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within mining, natural resources, or a similar industry.
- Strong working knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems.
