- Overees the major components of an erection, including budgetary concerns, time management, supply cycles, and safety regulations
- Supervises all main erection activities to ensure that all operations do not deviate from approved engineering documents
- Coordinates the execution of the works for erection of superstructures and entire production activity in the erection site area
- Assists the construction manager in the activities related to the completion of works
- Liaises with internal and external customers for precast element erection on a large scale, including elements like viaduct segment, spine
- Acts as the main technical adviser on a construction site for supervisors, operatives and subcontractors
- checks plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
- ensures that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications
- Supports the Erection Manager on price analysis for materials and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project
- Manages, monitors and interprets the contract design documents supplied by the client, by the company engineering department or by an external designer
- Liaises with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
- Liaises with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws
- Communicates with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress
- Supervises and and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors
- Evaluates non-conforming materials/products and to decide necessary recasting and repair
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years construction engineering experience, with a focus in erection solutions and techniques.
- Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures preferred.
- Specialized, technical knowledge of design build or other alternative build techniques.
- Able to delegate and assign work to engineering team to progress the project production forward.
- Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices.
- Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
- Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods and cost coding.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.
