- Delivery of relevant Bill of Quantities and coordination and integration with all parties associated with the delivery of the project including close liaison with the estimating team.
- Duties also include cost evolution control, tender review, and contract administration.
- Validate tender following award of project with the Project Manager.
- Assist in preparation of project CPS by analysing the tender and project requirements.
- Prepare cash flow by analysing the timing of sales and costs.
- Compile monthly reports in accordance with Company standard procedures.
- Where applicable carry out site measures with the Site Manager in accordance with contractual procedures.
- Ensure timely submission of claims in accordance with provisions of contract.
- Ensure that areas of concern are highlighted relating to contract costs, sales, and margins.
- Ensure that you attend monthly Cost Meetings.
- Draft pre and post contract correspondence in conjunction with Project Managers.
- Compile SE Ratio reports in conjunction with Site Managers.
- Identify if material purchases are scope or variation.
- To ensure that the set-up of site administration procedures which are drafted by taking cognisance of client / company requirements.
- Ensure control of client invoicing by validation of progress on submission of invoices.
- Administer payments to subcontractors and suppliers by reviewing submissions in terms of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure relevant legislation in relation to financial administration as compiled.
- Liaise closely with the accounting staff.
- Resolve disputes in relation to client / subcontractor issues.
- Prepare reports on commercial and contractual issues for the Project and Commercial Manager.
- Monitor site procurement on receipt of regular reports.
- Continually strive to achieve maximum profitability giving circumstances from site-exercising commercial acumen a proactive approach.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Candidate to be able to demonstrate successful delivery of large projects (>100m$)
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, or other degree in association with the Institutes of Chartered surveying.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity survey functions for contracting industry operations.
- Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration, and close-out relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
- Knowledgeable of current industry and technical developments.
- Strong working knowledge of FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) or ICE (Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors) and other similar contract formulation standards.
- Proven track record with recognized international standard contracting companies.
- Good communication skills and strong English capability.
- Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
- Computer literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.
