Aversan delivers leading-edge and reliable safety-critical electronics and software systems to the aerospace, defence, and space industries.We are currently seeking a qualified Hardware Designer – Technical Specialist. The role involves developing advanced hardware and application designs for train control and communication systems, leveraging expertise in signaling technologies and CAD tools to deliver efficient, high-quality engineering solutions.Location: Toronto, ON
Job Type: Hybrid (2 days on-site)Responsibilities
- Design and document hardware/application solutions using CAD tools (Microstation, AutoCAD).
- Interpret and write technical requirements and specifications.
- Solve design challenges using logical reasoning and engineering best practices.
- Reuse and adapt existing designs where possible to maximize efficiency.
- Lead small teams (1–5 designers) as needed and manage task schedules and budgets.
- Review deliverables to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
- Collaborate across teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to process improvements.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in system or hardware design.
- Proficient with CAD tools (Microstation, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SAP, ClearQuest, BoMs, and configuration management.
- Familiarity with SelTrac systems and QMS processes is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
