We provide patient support programs for specialty drug therapies, providing physicians with resources to manage their patients, facilitating reimbursement, and enhancing a patient’s understanding of their condition. We deliver superior customer service to patients, healthcare providers and pharmaceutical manufacturers to improve healthcare outcomes for all stakeholders.We are hiring a Director, Strategy & Business Development. Reporting to the Senior Director, Healthcare Partnerships Development & Growth, you will support and build relationships with pharmaceutical partners, prescribers, or other healthcare stakeholders, with the intent of attaining new business. This is a highly cross-functional, externally facing role with exposure to senior leadership within both Shoppers Drug Mart and external parties.Our organization has a hybrid work policy that requires colleagues to be in the office 4 days per week. This role is primarily based at the Specialty Health Network office located in Mississauga, with occasional travel required to theShoppers Drug Mart office in North York.What you will do:
- Develop and build strategic partnerships with key pharmaceutical clients and other healthcare stakeholders to win new business for Specialty Health Network and achieve stated business results
- Leverage the Shoppers Drug Mart Network to support a strategy towards developing new business, growing market presence, and BD opportunities
- Assist in the development and execution of the BD Strategic Plan
- Develop innovative and strategic proposals based on client opportunities
- Lead and conduct thorough responses to Request for Information (RFIs) and Request For Proposals (RFPs)
- Create, prepare and present enterprise credential presentations for new opportunities, as well as in response to RFIs and RFPs
- Conduct complex business analyses and define analytical structures
- Develop standardized reports for BD tracking and measurement
- Consult with mid and senior-level management on business trends with a view to developing new products, services, and distribution channels
- Conduct external research/data gathering and analysis
- Attend industry functions designed to increase relationships, grow the reputation of the enterprise as well as building awareness of the latest trends
- Assist with negotiating statements of work, drafting service agreements, terms, and conditions, as well as contracts with new and existing clients
- Drive top Line financial growth for the enterprise and impact profitability through the attainment of new business objectives
- Qualify new opportunities by contacting new and existing clients to uncover needs; develop and present solutions
- Up to 20% domestic travel, primarily for customer meetings, conferences, and events
- University degree with a concentration in Health Sciences, Engineering or Business, preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a client-facing professional services role
- Management consulting experience is highly desirable
- Aptitude for managing tight timelines across multiple workstreams/projects
- An interest in learning about the pharmaceutical industry, including patient support programs, systems and services, drug handling processes, drug reimbursement, etc.
- Excellent presentation, listening and consulting skills are essential
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Strong business acumen and strategy skills
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Flexibility to travel domestically (approximately 20% or more)
- Highly effective communication skills (oral and written), and well-developed interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success in working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment that requires high workload output as an individual contributor
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle • Bilingualism (English, French) would be an asset
