Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated and compassionate HandyDART Drivers to join our Vancouver team.As a HandyDART Driver, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity.   • Provide safe and courteous door-to-door service and assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking from the vehicle using appropriate on-board restraints for wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
  • Operate HandyDART vehicles following all traffic regulations, company safety protocols, and accessible transportation standards.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations.
  • Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.

Your profile:
  • You hold a class 1, 2 or 4 Unrestricted Driver's License OR a valid Class 4 Learner's permit.
  • You have a clean driving record.
  • You have a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
  • You can operate accessible transportation equipment and secure mobility devices.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You desire to make a real difference in the lives of the customers you serve.
  • You must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing and background checks.
  • Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
Your location:
  • This is a casual, unionized position in Vancouver area, BC.
  • HandyDART Drivers must be available for at least 10 full days per month, on weekdays and weekends.
  • Flexible schedule. Early, split & late shifts may be required.
