As an Occupational Therapist (OT) on our team you are responsible for developing programs that enable individuals to participate, to their fullest level, in activities that occupy their daily lives. Your client-base will consist of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as individuals of all other ages and needs.Salary: $80,000 - 102,000/ year + SIGNING BONUS
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11am - 7pm and Saturday, 9am - 4pm EST
Work setting: Community and center-based. Travel is required in GTATake an inside look at what you will do each day:
  • Assess client needs and family priorities as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Complete assessments using tools such as standardized tests, criterion or curriculum referenced materials, or checklists
  • Develop and implement a treatment plan for each client, based on assessment results
  • Develop reports as required
  • Consult to Behaviour Analysts who supervise Applied Behaviour Analysis Programs for Children with ASD and other needs
  • Work collaboratively with the family and other community professionals
  • Maintain knowledge in current evidence-based practices
  • Collect data and make evidenced-based decisions in treatment
  • Supervise students pursuing education in Occupational Therapy
  • Represent OT department in Monarch House by contributing to clinical policies and procedures and other centre-wide visions
Here is what you will need to be successful:
  • At least 1 year experience working with children with ASD
  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Experience and familiarity with assessment tools (standardized tests, etc.)
  • Member of college (CAOT) or CAOT eligible.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility in scheduling clients
  • Comfortable with community work and working independently with support from a regional OT team
  • Must possess a driver's license and access to a vehicle for daily use
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
