- Procure materials to align supply with demand
- Manage the commercial relationship with external vendors
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance
- Control inventory at optimal levels for all commodities within buyer's responsibility
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall efficiencies
- Drive solutions to close supply gaps and mitigate risks to production schedules
- Arrange and coordinate cost-effective shipments for all related materials
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management and material handling processes
- Resolve any issues that would prevent the receipt of materials into stock
- Resolve invoice-related issues as necessary
- Lead operational/escalation calls with suppliers and closely monitor on-time delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in SAP to allow for accurate material requirements and production planning
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and company policies
- Support and execute ad-hoc tasks assigned by the SCM SM leadership team
- Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, or certificate) in Supply chain/ Logistics or Engineering
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, suppliers, and priorities with minimal supervision in challenging conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across local and global teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using SAP
- Expertise in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of the Siemens MI & DCP product portfolios with expertise in supply chain and material planning will be an asset
