Employment Type: Full-TimeShermco Canada is seeking a skilled and safety-driven Journeyperson Electrician to join our growing Saskatchewan team. Based in Saskatoon, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical construction, maintenance, and technical services across critical industrial sectors.From 24V control systems to 230kV infrastructure, our work spans the full electrical spectrum, supporting clients in utilities, mining, oil & gas, and technology. If you’re looking for meaningful, hands-on work in a collaborative and safety-first environment, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities:As a Journeyperson Electrician, you will:
- Construct, install, alter, test, and maintain industrial electrical systems and components
- Install and service low, medium, and high-voltage equipment in industrial environments
- Safely work on or near energized electrical systems in accordance with applicable standards and procedures
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics to ensure accurate installation and maintenance
- Select appropriate materials and ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable regulations
- Mentor and support apprentices and junior workers, promoting safe work practices and skills development
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and equipment servicing
- Participate in safety initiatives, including hazard assessments, field audits, and positive safety reporting
- Travel to project sites, including out-of-town assignments, as required
- Perform other duties you are trained, competent, and authorized to complete
- Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certification (required)
- Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical environments
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and applicable codes and standards
- Industrial safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid) are considered an asset
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Willingness and availability to travel for project-based work
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork
- Work may be performed in industrial environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions, heights, confined spaces, and energized equipment
- Overtime, shift work, and travel may be required based on project needs and will be compensated in accordance with applicable Saskatchewan employment standards
- Employees are entitled to rest periods, overtime pay, public holiday pay, and leaves as provided under The Saskatchewan Employment Act
- All work assignments and hours of work will comply with provincial employment standards and occupational health and safety legislation
- Adhere to all Shermco Canada Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
- Comply with applicable occupational health and safety legislation and site-specific safety requirements
- Participate in mandatory safety training and orientations
- This position may require pre-employment and ongoing testing in accordance with Shermco Canada’s Alcohol and Drug Policy and applicable laws
