- Technical Design and Specifications: Manage technical design and specification processes to support operations goals and efficiency targets. Be the key technical resource for liquid product formulations.
- Product Specifications: Oversee liquid product specifications for new and existing products, ensuring they meet Pernod Ricard and global market expectations.
- Collaboration with Operations/Quality: Ensure liquid product formulations optimize production processes for high quality and efficiency.
- Database Management: Manage the formula database system.
- Compliance: Ensure liquid product compliance with Pernod Ricard guidelines, TTB, FDA/CFIA standards, ISO standards, and global regulations as directed by Market companies.
- Testing and Validation: Establish testing protocols, manage testing processes, and analyze test data to make recommendations.
- Project Management: Lead projects supporting the distillery, blending, Quality, procurement, and NPD initiatives.
- Quality Assessment: Partner with other departments and global market companies to assess the quality and compliance of liquid product formulations.
- Sample Management: Manage sample requirements and shipments globally.
- Support Operations: Provide technical support for production sites across North America, including operations in Walkerville and Fort Smith when quality issues arise.
- Sensory Panels: Participate in daily production sensory panels. Lead internal tastings for new product development.
- Analytical Work: Conduct analytical work and maintain knowledge of general laboratory instruments, including GC (Gas Chromatography) and HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography).
- Liaison with Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to build liquid briefs, ensure products developed meet expectations and are delivered in a timely manner.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering required; master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar work environment.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge in food/beverage chemistry, spirits technology, sensory science, ISO standards, and strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Experience with GC and HPLC preferred.
- Industry Expertise: Preferred experience in Wine & Spirits or Food & Beverage industries.
- Skills: Strong project management, process innovation, leadership, and familiarity with ISO standards.
- Environment: General production area and/or office environment with physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and climbing.
- Travel: Minimal travel required (5-10% of the time).
