Job Category: DriversJob Description:Clean Harbors/Safety-Kleen in Fort McMurray, AB is seeking a Driver whose role will be a hybrid of both our Sales and Service Rep (SSR) and a Clean Pack Chemist position. Both roles are field-based positions that prioritize safety compliance at all levels. Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work. practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
Follow all Federal, Provincial, and local environmental and transportation regulations (TDG).
Safely operated company vehicles in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Service & Waste Operations

Driving straight trucks customer sites to complete daily scheduled waste services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner.
Transport waste to company branches and disposal facilities.
May visit 10-12 customer sites per day.
Switch out 15- & 30-gallon drums of solutions.

Service a variety of automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses. * Inspect drums and storage areas for leaks, spills, labeling compliance, and housekeeping standards.

Collect, segregate, inspect, and package hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Sales Related Tasks:

Upselling products/ additional services, generating new sales leads.
Sell additional products and services into existing accounts.
Actively prospect for new accounts in assigned route.
Achieve monthly sales targets.
Work with route drivers to convert new sales opportunities.
Prepare and deliver customer quotes.
Other duties as required.

Documentation & Technical Work

Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restriction documentation.
Understand customer-specific disposal restrictions and special packaging requirements.
Sample and profile new waste streams that require analytical testing.
Ensure final project approval prior to shipment.

Qualifications:

Must be clean shaved to be fitted for a respirator.
Valid Driver's License: Class 3 license required.
3+ years of Class 3 driving experience (manual transmission required).
Experience driving straight trucks; vacuum truck experience is a strong asset.
Strong understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
Environmental services or hazardous waste experience are highly preferred.
Familiarity Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is an asset.
Physically able to perform job duties.
Clean-shaven and able to wear a respirator.
Professional, customer-focused communication skills.
Education in (Chemistry/Environmental Studies) is a strong asset but not required.
