- Job Description
- Develop electrical designs, specifications, and schematics for renewable energy and e-mobility systems such as photovoltaic (PV) solar, EV charging, battery storage systems, and grid integration.
- Perform electrical system analysis, load flow studies, fault analysis, and reliability assessments to ensure system stability and efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and proposals for renewable energy projects. Provide support during all project phases, from feasibility studies to commissioning and operational handover.
- Ensure that designs adhere to industry standards, local codes, and regulations. Support the preparation of regulatory submissions and assist with compliance audits.
- Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with renewable energy projects.
- Identify and resolve electrical engineering challenges that may arise during project execution or in existing systems.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve renewable energy designs and operational efficiency.
- Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum of 8-10 years' professional experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on renewable energy or power systems.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) from Professional Engineers Ontario or eligible for a license.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, grid integration, and renewable energy technologies.
- Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code and relevant renewable energy standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC).
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, control systems, and energy storage technologies.
- Proficiency in performing load flow analysis, fault analysis, and other electrical system studies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and resolve technical issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
