- The operator assigned to this position loads railcars and trucks with resin.
- Open a sealed cover using tools to inspect the inside of a railcar. This operation, performed with pneumatic tools, requires effort to unscrew the bolts holding the cover in place, bend forward, lift the cover (12 kg), and then close it. Install a pneumatic loading arm and a loading adapter.
- Go to your computer workstation and start the loading process using the control system. Then return to disconnect the system and close the railcar.
- If there are several railcars to load according to the orders, these movements are carried out using a capstan to which the railcars are attached and placed under the loading ramp one after the other.
- When unloading a batch of resin, the formaldehyde operator may need to clean the filter that collects residue. This operation requires the use of a pneumatic tool to unscrew the bolts that hold the cover in the closed position. The pneumatic tool must be held on the bolts.
- Then, turn a handwheel located on top of the cover to lift it.
- Then, push the cover to the side to access the filter elements.
- These filter elements must be lifted at arm's length (reach) from waist height to remove them from the filter housing and be cleaned or replaced as needed.
- This filter cleaning operation may also be necessary for the filter located on the truck loading system. The procedure is essentially the same.
- When the production schedule allows, the formaldehyde process operator is required to participate in various maintenance support tasks.
- These tasks involve more physical movement, such as climbing onto tanks using a ladder, carrying equipment, operating heavy tools, using harnesses, and working at heights.
- Performing tedious and repetitive tasks inside tanks using shovels and scrapers.
- Dismantling sections of piping for cleaning using power tools.

- This position is not eligible for employee benefits or a pension plan.
- You must always arrive for your shift fit for duty and pass a drug and alcohol screening prior to hiring.
