Employment Opportunity: 26.37Closing date: April 30, 2026Yukon University is seeking a Coordinator to support the Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining (CNIM). This role coordinates training while providing administrative support that keeps our responsive, high-quality programming running smoothly.This role coordinates the end-to-end delivery of programs, including marketing and promotion, course scheduling, participant onboarding, and program launch readiness. The position liaises with local and external contractors to organize courses, workshops and events, handling scheduling, contracts, travel, and follow-up. It maintains regular contact with students and instructors, while building and managing databases and metrics systems to monitor outcomes. The role also works closely with Marketing, Admissions, and internal teams to promote initiatives, recruit students, and strengthen partnerships across the university.In addition, the role provides comprehensive administrative support, while working in a team to coordinating room, equipment and vehicle use, event logistics (such as trade show or career fair setup, AV/technology, outreach, troubleshooting, and takedown), often serving as the first point of contact for CNIM programming. Responsibilities include course scheduling, processing purchasing and financial transactions, tracking budgets, as well as calling and preparing meeting materials.Education and Experience
  • Office Administration or Business Administration diploma (or higher)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license or higher
  • 3+ years of experience at a post-secondary institution, ideally involving First Nation partnerships, industry, and community engagement
  • Strong event planning and execution skills
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, database development, and records management
  • Experience with Banner software or similar administrative systems
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Basic bookkeeping knowledge for budget tracking
  • Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
Assets
  • Experience with program marketing and promotional materials
  • Familiarity with Yukon University administrative processes
