This position involves supporting trading technology initiatives within Capital Markets IT, working closely with traders and technology teams to optimize trading workflows, document system requirements, and participate actively in testing and validation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of trading platforms, data analysis skills, and the ability to translate trader needs into technical solutions, contributing to system improvements and efficiency.Responsibilities

Collaborate with commodities traders and IT teams to support trading platform development and enhancements
Document trading workflows, system specifications, and product functionalities clearly and concisely
Analyze trading and market data using SQL to support decision-making and system validation
Participate in testing, validation, and quality assurance of trading systems and workflows
Translate trader requirements into detailed technical specifications and implementation strategies
Understand trade lifecycle and downstream data flow within trading systems
Contribute to strategic thinking on system improvements and operational efficiencies

Desired Skill-Set

Experience with commodities trading platforms, especially TT (Trading Technologies)
Strong SQL skills for data analysis related to trading activities
Proven experience working directly with traders or front-office teams
Ability to document trading workflows precisely
Comfort and experience in testing and validation activities
Technical literacy with a good understanding of trading system architecture
Independent and proactive work approach, capable of managing responsibilities with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills to effectively interface with traders and technical teams
Relevant experience in commodities, equities, futures, algorithmic, or swap trading environments

Nice to Have

Prior experience with trading systems outside commodities, such as equities or futures
Familiarity with trading workflows and system integrations
Exposure to market data analysis and trading analytics tools
Knowledge of capital markets operations and technology landscape
Academic background from top Canadian universities with relevant project experience
