With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Design Site Coordinator with a proven track record supporting complex infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects to ensure field execution consistently reflects approved design documentation. In this role you will lead drawing control, RFI management, and change-tracking processes, serving as the primary liaison between Construction, Quality, and the Designer of Record (POR). You will ensure full traceability of design revisions, field modifications, and red-line documentation through project close-out and as-built submission, driving compliance, constructability, and effective risk mitigation across the project lifecycle.Role accountabilities:In this role, you will ensure that all construction activities are executed strictly in accordance with the latest approved drawings, including both IFC and pre-IFC stages. You will verify drawing revision statuses in Procore before work begins and continuously throughout operations to prevent the use of outdated documents. When drawing revisions occur mid-activity, you will issue timely notifications to mitigate risks of rework and non-compliance, safeguarding project quality and schedule.You will act as the primary liaison between Construction and the Designer of Record (POR), facilitating design clarifications and technical coordination. This includes expediting RFIs raised from the site and actively following up with the POR and Technical Team to secure prompt responses. You will maintain a live RFI register, tracking response times and ensuring all documentation is properly managed. Additionally, you will track all field changes arising from RFIs, Site Instructions, and Site Notices, maintaining full design traceability and leveraging historical RFI data to efficiently resolve recurring technical issues across multiple work fronts.In this position, you will manage structured change logs that link design updates directly to executed site activities and rigorously review and verify red-line mark-ups throughout construction to ensure their accuracy and completeness. You will ensure RFIs, Site Instructions, and Site Notices are clearly identified and cross-referenced on red-line drawings according to project tracking procedures. Your role will also involve providing comprehensive documentation and verifying inputs for final as-built and red-line drawing packages, ensuring the project’s documentation is thorough and audit-ready.You will coordinate closely with QA/QC and Construction teams to maintain design compliance and accurate record-keeping. Additionally, you will track Site Visit Reports (SVRs), ensuring their timely upload and documentation within the project management system. You will proactively raise design-related risks and concerns during coordination meetings to facilitate timely resolution, supporting contractual and quality compliance requirements throughout the project lifecycle.Regular travel in the Mississauga / Toronto West area will be required as a part of this role. Successful candidate(s) will be based in a project office in Mississauga for the first 2 years of the role.Qualifications & Experience:
  • Post-secondary education in Construction and/or Civil Engineering
  • Strong grasp of QA/QC principles and methodologies
  • Advanced working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and construction standards/specifications in Ontario
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Quality Control and design for complex P3 or heavy civil projects
  • Experience working within light rail projects across various disciplines
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Teamwork skills with the ability to gather and interpret information from diverse sources
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to coordinate multiple issues with competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong ability to work with field engineers within the organization
  • Effective communicator, orally and in writing
  • Keen negotiator in matters related to quality, able to propose practical solutions that benefit the project

The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position.
