- Manages the administration of all financial records, accounting processes and monthly, accumulative and annual financial reports and statements.
- Banking and accounting requirements, deposits, payments of expenses and producing cheques.
- Ensure payables, receivables, and related functions are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor and review the posting and balancing of all journals, ledgers and records, producing or directing the production of trial balances and other accounting techniques.
- Ensure all financial activities meet legislative and funding Ministry regulations, and other funding sources’ requirements and deadlines, as well as agency policies and directions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; advanced degree in business and/or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years experience working in an accounting position in a not-for-profit organization.
- CPA or CA qualified is considered an asset.
- Excellent planning and administration skills to effectively manage diverse services for the organization.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to be organized and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
