- Leads large/complex proposals, coordinating multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality, bid and strategy compliant, winning, and approvable bids on time and schedule. Stakeholders consist of the senior leadership team, technical subject matter experts (SMEs), project management, commercial, legal, and other personnel resources as required.
- Proactively work in collaboration with Account Managers to determine strategic approaches to opportunities that include persuasive content.
- Facilitates proposal kickoff meetings and regular status calls.
- Creates the proposal outline and obtains scope descriptions, estimates and other inputs as required from the appropriate delivery groups to create a compliant and competitive proposal.
- Generates cover letters, executive summaries, and other key (non-technical) parts of proposals.
- Coordinates pricing build ups for all proposals and completes pricing worksheets for smaller proposals.
- Maintains the proposals database with accurate and timely updates.
- Adheres to all Corporate Policies and Procedures including Compliance, Risk and Levels of Authority.
- Facilitates proposal reviews and approvals, including Pink, Green, Red, Gold, and escalated approvals as required.
- Leads the Purchase Order acceptance process and reviews Purchase Orders for accuracy and alignment with proposals.
- Anticipates and mitigates potential delays to proposal submission, ensuring on-time delivery of the proposal.
- Enforces approved style guidelines and ensures a consistent look and feel of all outgoing proposals.
- Works to create and improve best practices that ensure the RFP process is successful and efficient.
- Recommends, manages, and implements improvements of proposal tools and resources.
- Leads proposal improvement initiatives, as identified.
- Combination of post-secondary education with relevant work experience, minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Association for Proposal Management Professional (APMP) Foundation level certification, preferred.
- Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Conversant with Nuclear’ s corporate objectives, work methods, processes, procedures, and organization.
- Must have a solid understanding of Nuclear’ s costing and pricing models and its principles/requirements relating to treatment of risks, margins and cashflows.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities required to tackle a wide range of unique problems.
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage several bids concurrently and works well under deadline pressures.
- Strong organizational skills, work planning skills, and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Innovation is an asset with proactive mindset to aid in improving processes.
- Must be familiar with nuclear projects and engineering/technical terminology.
- Excellent English composition skills to write effective proposals.
- Strong oral and written skills to interact with customers and internal staff.
