As an Outside Sales Representative, you will sell plywood, MDF, melamine panels, and related wood composite sheet goods to manufacturers and fabricators across an established territory in the Greater Toronto Area. You will be selling primarily to buyers at kitchen and bath manufacturers, millwork shops, office furniture producers, and store fixture companies. This role is 50% new business development and 50% account management -- you will manage approximately 130 active accounts while reactivating a database of 500+ dormant accounts and developing new business through cold outreach and referrals. Leads are primarily self-generated through cold prospecting, referrals, and territory canvassing; there is no warm-lead program. Two positions are available: one covering the Woodbridge and Concord area, and one covering the east end of the GTA (Markham, Scarborough, Ajax, Pickering, and Whitby). Both roles report directly to the Sales Manager. The base salary is $60,000 - $75,000 CAD, plus commissions.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

They distribute plywood, MDF, melamine panels, and related wood composite sheet goods to manufacturers and fabricators across Ontario. Their primary markets include kitchen and bath manufacturers, general and architectural millwork companies, office furniture manufacturers, and store fixture companies.The culture is relationship-driven and field-first. Sales representatives are expected to be self-accountable, active in their territory, and capable of managing their own time and activity levels without micromanagement. Management provides support through regular field visits and weekly team sales meetings. The Sales Manager is actively building a collaborative field team and values reps who take ownership of their territory and invest in long-term customer relationships.OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY
  • Head Office: Rexdale, Ontario
  • Work arrangement: Primarily field-based; office space available as needed
  • Territory 1 (Woodbridge / Concord): Woodbridge and Concord area
  • Territory 2 (East GTA): East of the Don Valley Parkway -- Markham, Scarborough, Ajax, Pickering, and Whitby
  • Candidates do not need to live within the territory but must be in close proximity
  • Weekly sales meetings -- in person or remote
  • Overnight travel: Minimal -- less than 5%
  • Hours: Standard Monday -- Friday
EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience required
  • Experience selling to manufacturers, fabricators, or trade buyers is preferred -- kitchen and bath, millwork, building materials, flooring, hardware, lumber/panels, or commercial interiors backgrounds are all relevant; strong B2B sales background from any industry will be considered
  • Experience managing an established account base while simultaneously developing new business
  • Comfortable with cold outreach and account reactivation -- high phone and in-person prospecting activity is a core expectation
  • Valid driver's licence required
  • Fluent English communication skills required -- written and verbal
  • Post-secondary degree or college diploma preferred but not required -- the right candidate and character take priority
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Standard proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • CRM experience is an asset
  • Valid driver's licence and comfort navigating GTA territory required

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES

On a typical day, you will visit customer facilities, make outbound calls to dormant and prospective accounts, manage existing customer relationships to grow share of wallet, and attend the weekly sales meeting. Territory planning, route management, and pipeline tracking are part of the daily routine.LEADS
  • Approximately 130 active accounts per territory inherited from Day 1 -- warm relationships to manage and grow
  • 500+ dormant accounts per territory in the company database -- reactivation through outbound outreach
  • New business requires self-generated prospecting -- cold calling, referrals, and in-person canvassing
  • No warm inbound lead program -- reps are expected to drive their own pipeline
OVERNIGHT TRAVEL
  • Minimal -- less than 5%
  • Role is GTA-based and field-driven; overnight travel is not a regular requirement
SUPPORT & TRAINING
  • Structured onboarding program: approximately 2 weeks
  • Can accommodate two new hires starting one week apart
  • Direct field support from the Sales Manager -- reps will accompany the manager in the field during onboarding
  • Product training provided -- industry experience is an asset but not required for strong B2B sales candidates
  • Weekly team meetings provide ongoing peer learning and performance coaching
