- Ensure all applicable personnel on the assigned site have completed the required training requirements for their assigned position. This can include but is not limited to CBLs, Client training, SOP reviews and manufacturer specific training.
- Conduct equipment training and complete competency evaluations. Provide production training as required. Assist in providing equipment training to maintenance.
- Follow up on operator abuse issues (i.e. VIMS, Telematics), provide coaching and recommendations.
- Ensure the company’s training program is implemented and followed at the assigned site.
- Ensure equipment mentors are delivering training as per company standards.
- Maintain onboarding log and update crew designations weekly where applicable.
- Submit weekly reports on-time and complete, as requested.
- Utilize the LMS for theory delivery, record keeping, and training reports.
- 5 years of operating experience in a mining environment.
- 1+ years of operating experience on large and small Excavator, Crawler Tractor, Motor Grader and Haul Truck in a mining environment.
- Operating experience on shovel considered an asset. Operating experience on support equipment considered an asset.
- 1+ years of operational crew coaching, Lead Hand or supervisory experience, or a combination of all three types of experience
- 1+ years' operational crew coaching, Lead Hand or supervisory experience, or a combination of all three types of experience
- Post secondary education considered an asset.
- Registered Professional Trainer designation considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application software and training application software (LMS).
- Good organizational and communication skills, specifically written, verbal and public-speaking skills.
- Experience with training adults.
- Experience with program development.
- Experience with computer software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

- Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Have experience as requested as mentioned above
- Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Assessment
- Audiometric Testing
- Vision Screening
- Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
- VOID cheque/direct deposit form
