- Degree Railroading, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience or understanding of developing and leading similar organizations, in the rail industry.
- Familiarity with strategic Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices.
- Proven leadership skills in an organization with multiple functions and disciplines.
- Ability to understand underlying needs and motivations to maximize team engagement.
- Competence in removing internal and external roadblocks to facilitate problem-solving.
- High level of interpersonal communication skills.
- More than ten to fifteen years of progressively increasing responsibility in Senior Management within the heavy rail industry (preferably Passenger Rail), including railroad operations, customer service, maintenance, KPI management, budget preparation & control, labor relations, and a thorough working knowledge of all Federal, State, Municipal, and Local regulatory requirements including FRA, FTA (CFR 659), DOT SSO, and OSHA.
- Operations experience compliant with Title 49 Chapter II, Parts 200-269 (Federal Railroad Administration) of the US Code and Federal Regulations.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications and familiar with SAP and planning tools.
- Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, IRIS, etc.) and methodologies, including Six Sigma, Lean principles, and safety systems.
- Responsible for overall leadership and performance of the site, including regulatory compliance (FRA, OSHA, EPA, SSO), Environmental Health & Safety, customer service, equipment maintenance and reliability, business development, purchasing, finance, property management, P&L (budgets), and transportation activities.
- Administer a service function enabling the site/facility to operate 24/7, 365 days a year.
- Serve as liaison with the Customer, Regulators, and Alstom Transports to ensure quality service is provided and all contractual, regulatory, and jurisdictional specifications and standards are met.
- Plan, develop, and manage budgets, and be responsible for long-range planning, cost-saving initiatives, production efficiency initiatives, employee/labor relations, succession planning, and overall contract oversight.
- Ensure proper records are maintained for all operational activities in full compliance with Corporate, Customer, and Regulatory requirements.
- Utilize electronic databases, design and implement new procedures, prepare cost projections, lead maintenance activities, and analyze site performance.
