Can you see yourself providing support for the development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of Civil, Architectural, and Structural projects in our Facilities Decommissioning and Environmental Remediation group?   • Preparing engineering drawings and related documents for Civil, Architectural, and Structural systems
  • Preparing various documents to support work plans such as figures
  • Revising existing CADD and hand drawings
  • Preparing various Engineering documents including Field Walk Down Reports, Risk Assessments, Design Plans, etc.
  • Supporting engineering activities during decommissioning
  • Preparing hand sketches
  • Providing support in the preparation of as-built drawings.
What we are looking for:
  • Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology in a field relevant to the position, or equivalent formal education OR Secondary School Gradation Diploma or equivalent
  • In addition to technical college diploma, a minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of pertinent and progressive experience or the equivalent in experience, additional education and/or training OR in addition to Secondary School diploma, eight (8) to ten (10) years of pertinent and progressive experience or the equivalent in experience, additional education and/or training
  • Must possess a working knowledge of design drafting technique and practice.
  • Must be capable of producing neat, legible, and accurate drawings in reasonable time.
  • Proficiency in both written and oral communication in English is required, the ability to read drawings prepared in French would be considered an asset.
  • Initiative, motivation, and good people skills to work with peers as well as both internal and external customers in a team environment.
  • Working with close, frequent and systematic supervision;
  • Showing clear understanding of the work that is assigned
  • Interpreting marked up drawings.
  • Interpreting the National Building Code
  • Taking field measurements and producing “existing condition” sketches to be developed into as built drawings
  • Capable of working independently in an environment of rapidly changing and conflicting priorities using prioritization and planning skills to meet established deadlines;
  • Personal commitment to safety and a questioning attitude;
  • Self-motivated individual showing attention to detail and accuracy
  • The successful candidate must be fluent in English and able to follow and implement complex procedures.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with external and internal customers and suppliers is required
  • Must possess a working knowledge of mathematics.
  • Must possess knowledge of standard processes and materials in the civil/architectural field
  • Knowledge of the CNL Design Office Manual (DOM)
  • Knowledge of the CNL Engineering Change Control (ECC) Process
