The Opportunity:We are looking for an experienced Environmental Reclamation Specialist to join our clients team in the environmental specialty industry. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a technically challenging and rewarding role, contributing to a wide range of environmental and reclamation projects across Western Canada. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project leadership, and a passion for environmental stewardship.What You'll Be Doing:
  • Providing technical oversight, supervision, and mentorship on reclamation site assessments, including wellsite, facility, and pipeline projects
  • Planning, coordinating, and managing environmental projects both in the field and from the office
  • Conducting field work such as vegetation monitoring, Detailed Site Assessments (DSAs), and supervising/coordinating tree planting programs
  • Assessing forested soils/vegetation and classifying peatland vegetation
  • Supervising third-party contractors, field teams, and office staff as needed
  • Leading and reporting on Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Interpreting and analyzing environmental data and producing high-quality technical reports
  • Preparing and managing project budgets
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders
  • Participating in health and safety programs for both company and client standards
  • 30% of time in office, 70% on field work.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • A university degree or diploma in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience from a recognized institution
  • 5-10 years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation
  • Eligibility or current registration with a professional association (e.g., APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB) in Alberta or Saskatchewan
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta's surface reclamation regulations and guidelines
  • Proficiency with Alberta's 2010 Forested Criteria and 2017 Peatland Reclamation Criteria
  • Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices (an asset)
  • Excellent technical writing, data analysis, and reporting skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems independently
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
