Our Nurses experience exciting assignments in Northern Canada's isolated, semi-isolated, and remote areas. Work closely with diverse Indigenous communities (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) providing care to community members in Canada’s remote Northern communities of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.The work you will do:
  • Provide planned interactions within the community for clients/patients and groups to support them in specific health programs, such as:
  • maternal child health programming
  • reproductive health
  • prenatal classes
  • communicable disease prevention
  • chronic disease management
  • Utilize the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching according to care plan
  • Ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent within the scope of practice
  • PHN assignments in Nunavut vary from 4 to 6 weeks minimum

QualificationsWho You Are:
  • You are a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and have a nursing license through the governing body in good standing
  • You have or are willing to obtain a regulatory license in the province or territory of work such as, College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM), College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and or College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN), British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), or Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)
  • You have (3000 hours) two (2) years of full-time experience as a Public Health Nurse OR (3000 hours) two (2) years of full-time experience working in remote, isolated or semi-isolated communities as a Public Health Nurse
  • Mandatory skillsets and additional training requirements and reimbursements will be discussed during interview
