Job Title: Automation EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with strong experience in Siemens TIA PORTAL and HMI/PLC programming, particularly in WINcc Flex. The ideal candidate will support Design Validation Testing (DVT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), conduct I/O checks, and handle programming from scratch or transition functionality between tools. This role focuses on discrete digital automation in industries such as nuclear, automotive, consumer goods, and medical devices.Responsibilities
  • Program and configure Siemens TIA PORTAL and HMI/PLC systems using WINcc Flex.
  • Support Design Validation Testing (DVT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Conduct I/O checks and ensure functionality aligns with project specifications.
  • Develop programming solutions from scratch or adapt functionality between different tools.
  • Ensure discrete digital automation practices are adhered to in specified industries.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of experience in PLC programming and automation.
  • Proficiency in Siemens TIA PORTAL and WINcc Flex.
  • Experience in discrete digital automation, specifically in nuclear, automotive, consumer goods, or medical devices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in controls engineering and robotics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with SCADA programming.
  • Ability to handle site service support and travel as needed.
Work EnvironmentThis position follows a hybrid work schedule, initially transitioning to full-time in-office work. The typical workweek is Monday to Friday, with 8-hour days. The role involves travel to support facilities, with expenses covered for travel and accommodation. During project lifecycle phases, work will shift from hybrid to full-time in-office, particularly during integration and testing phases Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Cambridge, ON. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
