  • Performs stereotaxic surgeries on songbirds.
  • Runs experiments on vocal learning.
  • Analysis of vocal performance and learning.
  • Processes brain tissue of animals in experiments (histology, immunohistochemistry, microscopy).
  • Helps train lab members on surgical, behavioral, and wet lab procedures.
  • Animal husbandry and maintenance
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Strong background in bioacoustics and statistical analyses.
Education/Experience:
  • Master's degree.
  • PhD in neuroscience or related field an asset.
  • Five years experience working with animals.
Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
