
DCS Technician

- Maintaining and troubleshooting SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems, including all Operational Technology (OT) and communication systems.
- Supporting access control and monitoring of critical system resources.
- Repairing, maintaining, configuring, and installing controls and instrumentation equipment.
- Leading lifecycle management and planning for control system equipment to ensure long-term reliability.
- Collaborating with maintenance teams to perform critical work with minimal downtime.
- Providing troubleshooting support to operations teams to resolve process control issues.
- Managing and administering change requests to control and communication systems under the management of change (MOC) process.
- Maintaining accurate and current documentation on DCS configurations, changes, and maintenance.
- Participating in PHA, HazOps/LOPA, and shutdown reviews to improve safety and reliability.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensuring all work complies with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in software engineering, instrumentation control, automation, electrical, process engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with and programming DCS and PLC systems in an industrial setting.
- Hands-on experience with ABB 800xA and Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet/IP.
- In-depth knowledge of process control systems and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with Advanced Process Control (APC), optimization techniques, and loop tuning.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control logic diagrams.
- Experience commissioning and starting up DCS/PLC-based systems is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Previous operations experience is an asset.
