We provide expertise in ground engineering and tunnel excavation with qualified personnel.STRABAG is actively seeking a Shift Engineer for our Canadian division where the applicant can utilize their knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization. The successful candidate will be stationed at the project site in Scarborough Area.Job Summary:Under the tunnel manager's direction, the Shift Engineer is responsible for construction work preparation including construction planning, document preparation, and submission field supervision of sub-contractors and workforce.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise daily tunneling operations, including excavation, lining installation, and equipment maintenance.
Monitor TBM performance, ground conditions, and advance rates; report issues promptly to the Shift Manager or Project Engineer.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on-site, conducting pre-shift briefings and safety inspections.
Record shift data such as production metrics, equipment status, and material usage for project documentation.
Coordinate with survey, geotechnical, and mechanical teams to ensure alignment accuracy and minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot technical or operational issues that arise during excavation and recommend corrective actions.
Communicate shift handover details clearly to the next team, ensuring continuity of operations.
Contribute to risk assessments, quality control checks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
