Job Description:Our client is an established and growing privately-held company with multiple locations across Ontario. Due to expansion of the Finance team, they are seeking a Division Controller to lead the financial operations of one of the company's largest divisions. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who thrives in a highly collaborative, onsite environment and is motivated by continuous learning and career progression within a growing, complex organization.This role works closely with operational leaders across multiple sites and offers meaningful exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making. This position requires regular ongoing travel to various sites across Ontario, and as a result, can be based in one of three locations: Niagara, Oakville or Barrie. Travel is required 12 months out of the year without exception.Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements and cost reports, identifying trends and areas of concern for senior leadership
  • Oversee general ledger and subsidiary ledger maintenance to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data within the ERP system
  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes, providing insights into anticipated financial performance
  • Prepare year-end working papers and supporting documentation for audited financial statements
  • Complete regulatory filings, including T5 and T5018 slips, excise tax filings, and HST reviews
  • Attend operational, financial, and senior management meetings to provide financial leadership and guidance
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to protect the integrity of financial reporting systems and processes
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee direct reports to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely completion of work

Requirements:What You Bring
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting and leadership experience
  • CPA designation (required)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations
  • Strong ERP experience; Oracle highly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience supervising and developing direct reports
  • Manufacturing industry experience is required
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight (2-3 nights) at least once per month (every month)
