Job Description:Robert Half is partnered with a leading food manufacturing organization who is looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist to their growing team. This is a full time permanent position located in the Mississauga area. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for;- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and receipts- Review aging reports regularly and prioritize accounts for collection efforts based on payment terms and risk- Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to follow up on past-due invoices and resolve payment delays- Maintain positive customer relationships to facilitate prompt resolution of payment issues while upholding professional communication standards- Post payments in the ERP system and prepare bank deposits- Investigate and resolve disputes related to deductions- Work closely with internal teams (e.g. sales and finance departments) to address and resolve customer concerns effectively- Perform trade spend analysis- Prepare weekly and monthly accounts receivable reports and provide updates to management on the status of outstanding payments- Maintain thorough and accurate records of all collection activities, communications, and payment arrangements for audit or review purposes- Post journal entries and support the Controller with Month End close procedure- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the accounts receivable and collection processesRequirements:Qualifications:- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree/diploma will be considered- Minimum of 4 years of accounts receivable and collections experience within the manufacturing industry with preference given to those with food manufacturing industry experience- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail- Effective communication and negotiation skills to foster productive customer interactions- Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
