- Provides on-farm primary, preventative, and emergency medical care to equine patients
- Supervises and instructs final-year veterinary students, equine practice interns, and residents during ambulatory rotations
- Performs routine equine dental care, including assessments and corrective procedures
- Delivers reproductive management services, such as breeding evaluations and pregnancy monitoring
- Carries out minor surgical procedures appropriate for field-based care
- Provides performance horse medicine, including diagnostics and treatment plans tailored to athletic horses
- Utilizes portable diagnostic equipment, such as digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and therapeutic devices
- Coordinates referral-based care in collaboration with specialty service professionals
- Contributes to departmental teaching activities, such as lectures, laboratories, and demonstrations
- Provides feedback and completes assessments and grading for students participating in ambulatory rotations
- Maintains accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records for all equine patients seen in the field
- Responds to after-hours and on-call requests as part of the equine field service team
- Communicates and acts in a respectful and professional manner, collaborates effectively, abides by policy, and contributes to a positive and productive work and learning environment
- Engages in continuous learning by participating in activities, training, and events related to Indigenous engagement, reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Demonstrates respect and dignity for all members of the community, actively contributes to an environment of acceptance and inclusion of others and responds to different perspectives from a place of curiosity, respect, and non-judgement
- Undertakes related duties, as assigned, consistent with the nature of the position
- A Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
- Licensed with the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association
- A valid class five driver's license
- Minimum of three years' experience in equine ambulatory practice including equine primary care, preventative medicine, and emergency response
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders in a multi-clinician field service and referral hospital environment
- Familiarity with clinical instruction and mentorship is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to travel frequently within the province

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $87,266.00 - 145,353.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
