Together, we’ll push boundaries and go above what’s expected of us to meet the challenges of tomorrow and engineer a better world!CIMA+ is continuing to expand its Earth and Environment practice in Ontario and is seeking a Natural Environment Team Lead to support technical delivery, team development, and business growth. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of biologists, environmental professionals, and field technicians who are contributing expertise in field programs, natural heritage studies, and environmental reporting across the infrastructure, energy, transportation, and land development sectors for both public and private clients.This role offers the opportunity to participate in our hybrid work model, which includes flexible hours, remote work options, and access to one of our offices in Ottawa, Gatineau, or southern Ontario, including Kitchener, Guelph, Burlington, Mississauga, Toronto, and Bowmanville.This position combines technical leadership, team management, and business development. Responsibilities include technical review, client engagement, proposal support, permitting strategy, and staff development. This role also offers strong opportunities for professional growth, particularly in project management and team leadership.Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide senior technical review and guidance on environmental impact evaluation statements, ecological studies, and other technical documents.
  • Oversee authorizations and permits under federal and provincial regulations.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals and the development of the team’s portfolio in alignment with the sector’s strategic plan.
  • Manage vacations, virtual work arrangements, material needs, and schedule logistics on behalf of the team. Plan and oversee professional development activities, including training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Reviews and approves timesheets for accuracy and compliance with project allocations and monitors on a regular basis utilization rates, profitability, backlog, and key performance indicators for the team.
  • Conduct site visits to support project managers and verify the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and promote a culture of prevention, safety, and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Degree or diploma in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or additional years experience.
  • Proven expertise in project and personnel management.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial, and federal legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is a strong asset to support activities across Canada
