- Determine environment requirements based on test scope, type, and schedule.
- Collaborate with development, testing, and infrastructure teams to define environment requirements and specifications to ensure appropriate environment provisioning.
- Manage environment configuration and maintenance by ensuring installation and configuration of necessary software, databases, tools, and data sets. Further, manage access control and security for different environments and monitor performance and availability of test environments.
- Develop and maintain test environment usage calendar, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business goals.
- Monitor the availability of test environments, identifying and resolving Test Environment related issues promptly.
- Oversee the resolution of Test environment issues, coordinating with relevant teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Document and track issues, providing regular updates to stakeholders on status and resolution efforts.
- Integrate environment management with CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure Release Management processes and policies are adhered to so that IT releases are reliable, and products are recoverable and auditable.
- Coordinate and maintain the release schedule to optimize release delivery time and minimize impact to the business.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the success of release management and identify areas for improvement.
- Support development teams on managing Version Control and deployment process
- Participate in the change management call to represent the release.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate build, test and deployment processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues in the release pipeline, providing solutions to ensure minimal downtime.
- Develop and enforce best practices for DevOps administration, including security, scalability, and performance.
- Continuously improve the release process by integrating new tools and technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement of automated release capabilities, using CI/CD pipelines to support Vancity’s continuous delivery capabilities.
- Manage and Support Azure DevOps and strive for continuous improvements.
- Lead a team of Services Transition Analysts, Test Environment Support Engineers, and provide hands-on guidance as required.
- Coordinate with Platform owners, service design, and operations teams to ensure effective deployments.
- Liaise and coordinate with IT stakeholders to remove roadblocks in the SDLC process to ensure release schedules are maintained across multiple applications and portfolios, across different teams and projects.
- Bachelors in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in release management, both manual deployment and automated pipelines.
- 3+ year of experience in Test Environment Management / Support
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge and strong understanding of SDLC, ITIL methodologies and QA Testing processes.
- Experience in the financial industry is desirable.
