- Interpret and implement federal, provincial, and municipal permits and approvals.
- Support environmental permitting and compliance related to fish and fish habitat, wetlands, watercourses, wildlife, and Species at Risk.
- Conduct and oversee environmental inspections and construction environmental monitoring (CEM/EM).
- Provide on‑site environmental support during clearing, grading, in‑water works, and vegetation management.
- Prepare and review regulatory‑focused deliverables, including:
- Aquatics and fisheries assessments
- Wildlife surveys and reporting
- Wetland delineation and impact assessments
- EPPs, ECO Plans, CEMPs, and compliance documentation
- Support environmental sampling programs (soil, water, sediment, waste) and associated reporting.
- Participate in spill response, incident reporting, and regulatory follow‑up.
- Liaise with regulators, Indigenous communities, and internal project teams.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal procedures and compliance best practices.
- Other duties as required.
- 6–10 years of environmental consulting or applied environmental experience with a regulatory focus.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or related field.
- Appropriate professional designations in good standing, for ex. RPBio (BC), P.Biol. (AB).
- Experience applying legislation such as the Fisheries Act, Water Act, Wildlife Act, Public Lands Act, SARA, MBCA.
- Practical experience in aquatics, wildlife, and/or wetland assessment and reporting.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Time management, accountability, and ability to control conflicting priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field work.
