As our Quality Records Technician you will support the Quality Records function by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements and BWXT processes. You will verify quality and inspection records, communicate key documentation requirements to internal teams and external stakeholders, and assist in resolving documentation-related issues. Reporting to the Quality Records Supervisor, you will collaborate closely with Quality Records, Engineering, Supply Chain, and document control teams, while also interacting with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies such as TSSA.Location:Onsite, Cambridge ONYour Day to Day as our Quality Records Technician:Records Retention & Technical Oversight
- Ensure accurate scanning, verification, and authentication of production records.
- Review closed nonconformance reports (NRs) to identify issues and support corrective actions.
- Optimize document sorting, scanning, and traceability practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to improve record retention processes.
- Coordinate the flow of production orders and drawings to and from the shop floor.
- Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and required sign-offs.
- Ensure proper closure of production orders and related quality documentation.
- Provide clear identification, stamping details, and traceability drawings to support operations.
- Prepare and verify complete history dockets for nuclear projects.
- Coordinate document transmittals for internal and external review.
- Ensure proper handling and shipment of RT films and related documentation.
- Conduct detailed reviews of quality records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support regulatory and customer approvals, including Technical Safety and Standards Association (TSSA).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Review vendor documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date vendor records to ensure traceability.
- Mentor and support team members in developing technical and quality records expertise.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Encourage proactive problem-solving and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Apply technical expertise to resolve challenges and improve processes.
- Deliver accurate, high-quality work with a focus on timeliness and efficiency.
- College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Power Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance – Manufacturing and Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a quality or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with external suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
- Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 and CSA N299.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information both verbally and in writing.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
