
Electrical Safety Codes Clerk

- Handle ongoing permit inquiries, including reviewing and processing daily inspection activity files and reports, attaching documents to permits, and managing change of owner/applicant requests
- Respond to citizen and customer inquiries via phone and email, assisting with inspection scheduling, inquiry follow-up, and requests for information
- Provide accurate and timely responses to customer inquiries, including handling refund processes and permit cancellations
- Verify customer files and assist with online account set-up and troubleshooting
- Maintain and process delinquent records, reviewing and resolving permit files older than two years, and coordinating physical mail-outs of Permit Service Reports
- Assign inspections as required
- Support other departmental processes, including scheduling, facilitating meetings and events, processing operational and staff changes, and compiling meeting materials
- Research and compile data and source documents for supervisor review
- Take minutes for meetings within the section
- Format and transfer SOPs, tool tips, and guides into the Knowledge Library
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade, including business subjects with emphasis on general office practices, or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college
- 2 years of general office experience

- Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position. There may be a cost associated with this requirement
- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
